Superior Octopus is a version of Doctor Octopus (Otto Octavius) from Marvel Comics. This iteration of the character debuted in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #700 (2013).
Following a near-death experience, Doctor Octopus swaps his mind with Peter Parker, effectively becoming Spider-Man. Although initially acting selfishly, as Doc Ock, Octavius continues to operate as Spider-Man for a time, utilizing his superior intellect and ruthless efficiency. The results are mixed - sometimes successful, but often crossing ethical lines.
Later, Octavius surrenders control of Peter Parker's body. However, his consciousness persists. He is then able to transfer himself into a clone body, this one designed by himself and with Spider-Man's powers. He then attempts to become a new, "superior" hero.
At one point he is a member of Hydra.
